The heavens have descended upon the earth, or so it seems, as Tiffany & Co. heralds the arrival of the ‘Tiffany 2024 Blue Book: Tiffany Céleste’ high jewelry exhibition. From August 15th to August 23rd, the National Taiwan Normal University Art Museum is transformed into a cosmic odyssey, showcasing nearly 600 pieces worth over 11 billion TWD, including 60 pieces from the celestial-themed Tiffany Céleste collection. This event not only marks the grandest exhibition in the brand’s storied history but also the Asian premiere of Tiffany’s latest summer creations, shining resplendently for all to admire.
A Tribute to Infinite Imagination
Tiffany’s 2024 Blue Book high jewelry collection, Tiffany Céleste, pays homage to the boundless creativity of legendary designer Jean Schlumberger and his love for the mysterious cosmos. Nathalie Verdeille, Tiffany & Co.’s Artistic Director for jewelry and high jewelry, has designed her second Blue Book collection, innovatively interpreting Schlumberger’s classic motifs of the sun, moon, stars, distant galaxies, and the fantastical universe. The spring collection, unveiled earlier this year, featured six chapters: Wings, Arrow, Constellation, Iconic Star, Ray of Light, and Apollo. In its summer additions, Tiffany introduces three new chapters: Peacock, Shooting Star, and Flames, each a testament to the brand’s artistic and horological mastery.
The Artistic Vision of Nathalie Verdeille
Nathalie Verdeille declares, “Tiffany Céleste is a testament to boundless imagination, offering those who seek a cosmic presence in their personal lives a collection of resplendent and moving jewelry masterpieces. The striking silhouettes and grand visions coalesce to forge unparalleled creations of extraordinary artistry.”
The Exhibition’s Three Grand Vistas
The first section, ‘Tiffany Céleste: The Celestial Journey,’ guides visitors through a universe of luxurious gems, showcasing Schlumberger’s limitless imagination. Nathalie Verdeille draws inspiration from Schlumberger’s works to create a new high jewelry series that is fantastical, poetic, and ethereal, perfectly embodying Tiffany’s exceptional craftsmanship.
In the ‘Jean Schlumberger: The Verdant Sanctuary,’ lush greenery surrounds the tribute to the visionary jewelry artist who drew inspiration from nature to sing the beauty of life with gemstones. Schlumberger boldly blended colorful gemstones with golden elements, harmoniously incorporating the rhythms of the natural world into his jewelry designs, capturing the vitality of all living things and blooming plants. This section features an array of Bird on a Rock pieces, stirring the soul with their various postures, and Tiffany’s first flying tourbillon wristwatch, a culmination of the brand’s fusion of art and watchmaking expertise.
The King of Diamonds
Since 1848, when The New York Times hailed Tiffany & Co. as the “King of Diamonds,” the brand has amassed a myriad of achievements, from sourcing the world’s most famous diamonds to defining classic designs, setting industry standards, and integrating the diamond supply chain. The ‘Blue Book Classic’ section dazzles with proof of these milestones. Color diamonds, one of nature’s rarest treasures, are celebrated here, with a 1.09-carat purplish-red diamond ring and a brooch featuring a 51-carat intense yellow diamond, both set in platinum and 18k gold, underscoring Tiffany’s regal status in the diamond hierarchy.
